Islamabad: Preparations for Kashmir Solidarity Day, observed annually on February 5, are in full swing across Pakistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and abroad to express unwavering support for the oppressed people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The observance comes amid intensified repression by Indian authorities in the occupied territory.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, political parties, activists, the general public across Pakistan and AJK and Pakistani embassies abroad are organizing events to reaffirm their commitment to Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, a right denied by India for 78 years. The day will be marked with special prayers for the martyrs of Kashmir and mass rallies, peace walks, and symposiums highlighting the plight of Kashmiris under Indian rule.<\/p>\n

February 5 will be observed as a public holiday across Pakistan and AJK, with events planned to amplify international awareness of India’s continued atrocities in IIOJK.<\/p>\n

Posters continue to appear in Srinagar and other parts of the occupied territory, thanking Pakistan for its solidarity while urging people to observe the day as Black Day in protest against Indian occupation.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels is planning to host an event commemorating Kashmir Solidarity Day, bringing together Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora members, media representatives, and embassy officials. A documentary will be screened, showcasing human rights abuses and Kashmiris’ enduring struggle for freedom, as recognized by United Nations resolutions.<\/p>\n
