Islamabad: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Engr Amir Muqam has said that Pakistan will mark Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5 (tomorrow) with nationwide events and global advocacy to reaffirm support for Kashmiris\u2019 right to self-determination.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, Amir Muqam while addressing a press conference along with Convenor APHC-AJK Ghulam Muhammad Safi and senior Hurriyat leader Muhammad Farooq Rehmani announced a series of activities, including a one-minute silence at 10:00 am tomorrow to honor Kashmir\u2019s martyrs.<\/p>\n
The federal minister said a solidarity rally will be held at Constitution Avenue, Islamabad, attended by federal ministers, lawmakers, and Kashmiri leaders. He said that Pakistani embassies and consulates worldwide will organize seminars, rallies, and exhibitions to expose India\u2019s human rights violations in IIOJK.<\/p>\n
He said Ministry of Information and Broadcasting launched a media campaign, with PTV, Radio Pakistan, and private news channels airing special programs on Kashmir. Similarly, across Pakistan, metro stations, airports, and major roads were adorned with banners showcasing solidarity with Kashmiris. Educational institutions held debates and essay competitions to engage students in the Kashmir cause.<\/p>\n
Calling on the UN and global human rights organizations to take notice of India\u2019s oppression, Muqam warned that regional and global peace is at risk due to India\u2019s aggressive policies. He urged Pakistani youth to use social media effectively to expose India\u2019s human rights abuses.<\/p>\n
Ghulam Muhammad Safi appreciated Pakistan\u2019s steadfast support, condemning India\u2019s unilateral revocation of Kashmir\u2019s special status on August 5, 2019.<\/p>\n
He stated that India is attempting to change the demographics of IIOJK and is pursuing a Hindutva-driven agenda aimed at altering the region’s Muslim-majority character.<\/p>\n
It is pertinent to mention that since 1990, Pakistan has observed Kashmir Solidarity Day annually, reinforcing its commitment to supporting Kashmiris in their struggle for self-determination until the UN-mandated plebiscite is held.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
