According to Kashmir Media Service, Tariq Hameed Karra in a statement in Srinagar, reacting to the incidents, said civilian killings are on the rise, exposing the government\u2019s tall claims of normalcy in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. \u201cOn one hand, they claim peace has been restored, and on the other, such brutal incidents keep happening. This shows their failure in handling the situation,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
He held the Modi government responsible for the deteriorating situation in the occupied territoryJ, saying their policies towards Kashmir need immediate reconsideration. \u201cThey cannot go on like this. If they are true to their commitment to restoring normalcy, they must introspect and revisit their approach,\u201d he maintrained.<\/p>\n
Karra also slammed the dual control system in the occupied territory, saying it is adding to the chaos.<\/p>\n
Reacting to a statement by the Chief Minister\u2019s advisor that the elected government in occupied Jammu and Kashmir was not involved in decision-making and that the chief minister was not even consulted in key meetings, Karra remarked, \u201cThis is an insult to the electorate of Jammu and Kashmir and a blatant disregard for democratic norms.\u201d<\/p>\n
He questioned why the Lieutenant Governor (LG) was present at the meeting while the elected Chief Minister was sidelined. \u201cThis clearly shows there are two governments running occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
