Dhaka: Bangladesh has asked India to stop ousted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from making \u201cfalse and fabricated\u201d comments while she is in the country.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, Hasina fled to India last year following a popular uprising against her rule in Bangladesh. In an online address on Wednesday, she called on people to stand against the interim government in Bangladesh, accusing it of seizing power in an \u2018unconstitutional\u2019 manner. Thousands of protesters gathered in Dhaka before Hasina\u2019s address and demolished and set fire to the home of Mujibur Rahman, her father and Bangladesh\u2019s founding leader.<\/p>\n

Bangladesh\u2019s foreign ministry handed over a protest note to India\u2019s acting high commissioner in Dhaka, conveying \u201cdeep concern, disappointment and serious reservation\u201d over her comments, it said in a statement on its Facebook page.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe ministry \u2026 requested \u2026 India to immediately take appropriate measures, in the spirit of mutual respect and understanding, to stop her from making such false, fabricated and incendiary statements \u2026 while she is in India,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n
