New Delhi: Senior National Conference leader and Indian parliamentarian Ruhullah Mehdi has expressed serious concerns over the deteriorating situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the killings in Baramulla and Kathua.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, Ruhullah while speaking to media in New Delhi, said that the situation in IIOJK worsened immediately after a security review meeting was conducted by Indian Home Minister in New Delhi. \u201cThe IIOJK LG and Indian forces were summoned, but following that, the situation deteriorated,\u201d Ruhullah said. He also criticized the absence of any representation of NC-led IIOJK government in the meeting<\/p>\n
Ruhullah condemned the recent killings of two civilians in Baramulla and Kathua districts. A truck driver Waseem Ahmed Mir was martyred on Wednesday when Indian troops opened fire on his vehicle at a checkpoint at Sangrama Chowk in Baramulla. In another incident on Thursday, Indian troops arrested 25-year-old Makhan Din in Kathua district and tortured him to death in custody.<\/p>\n
Regarding the killing of Waseem Ahmed Mir, Ruhullah raised questions about the Indian army\u2019s account of events regarding the killing of Waseem Mir. He demanded that the authorities release the CCTV footage from the area, noting that the location is equipped with numerous bunkers and surveillance cameras.<\/p>\n
He also highlighted the arrest of over 500 youth across the occupied territory in recent days, stating, \u201cThese youth were subjected to beatings, had their phones confiscated, and were taken to unknown locations.\u201d Ruhullah described this as a form of collective punishment against the IIOJK people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
