Jammu: The family of a Srinagar-based youth, whose body and vehicle were found in a gorge in the Digdool area of Ramban along the Srinagar-Jammu Highway on December 30, 2024, staged a protest today, demanding a thorough investigation into his death.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, a group of family members, relatives, and friends from Srinagar gathered in Ramban, carrying placards and urging the police to expedite the probe and ensure justice.<\/p>\n

The deceased, Umar Yaseen Shah (24), a resident of Railway Colony, Nowgam, Srinagar, went missing on December 22 while traveling in his Mahindra Thar from Srinagar to Jammu. His body was discovered by a shepherd in a gorge in Digdool on December 30. Upon receiving information, the Ramban police recovered the body and later handed it over to the family.<\/p>\n

The bereaved family strongly refutes the claim that it was an accident, saying that Umar was murdered in cold blood. They are demanding the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct a fair and speedy probe into the case.<\/p>\n

The family said that Umar was the only son and sole breadwinner, making their loss even more devastating.<\/p>\n
