Tarigami and Congress leader Nizamuddin Butt also joined the chorus, demanding that the remarks against the 1931 martyrs be expunged and that the Leader of the Opposition issue an apology.<\/p>\n<p>July 13 was observed as a public holiday in Jammu and Kashmir to commemorate the 22 men who were shot dead by the autocratic Dogra Maharaja\u2019s soldiers outside Srinagar Central Jail in 1931.<\/p>\n<p>However, this holiday, along with the December 5 holiday marking the birth anniversary of Sheikh Abdullah, was scrapped by the BJP-led government under the Lt.
