The COTU reiterated its demand for a separate administration for Kuki-majority areas to resolve the ongoing conflict with the Hindu majority Meitei community.<\/p>\n<p>According to Kashmir Media Service, in a review of the security situation in Manipur, two weeks after President\u2019s rule was imposed, Amit Shah had called for &#8220;strict action&#8221; against any attempts to obstruct free movement.<\/p>\n<p>Ethnic violence had divided the state sharply since May 2023, resulting in Hindu majority Meiteis and Christian dominated Kuki-Zos claiming territory for themselves.<\/p>\n<p>During a COTU meeting, the group passed eight resolutions, including a firm stance against free movement in Kuki-Zo areas until a resolution that aligns with their aspirations is reached. The organization emphasized that it would not compromise on its demand for a separate administration in Kuki-majority areas to end the conflict.<\/p>\n<p>COTU vowed to continue the fight for a separate territory through protests, mobilization, and democratic resistance.
