Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has said that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Indian government and its puppet regime imposed in the territory cannot change the historic realities by erasing everything that symbolizes the Kashmiris’ resilience against oppression and oppressors.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the DFP spokesman, Advocate Arshad Iqbal, in a statement in Srinagar strongly condemned the inflammatory remarks made by BJP leader Sunil Sharma against the martyrs of July 13, 1931, during his speech in the so-called Assembly.<\/p>\n
Terming martyrs of 13th July 1931 as real heroes of the Kashmiri people, he said the supreme sacrifices rendered by the Kashmiri martyrs continue to inspire Kashmiris generations despite the passage of eight decades.<\/p>\n
He said the people of Kashmir won’t allow anyone whosoever to disrespect or undermine the martyrs’ sacrifices. “Martyrs of July 13, 1931 are the heroes of Kashmiri people who sacrificed their lives for the rights and dignity of the oppressed people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir”, Arshad Iqbal said.<\/p>\n
Expressing his deep concern over the plight of illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists, he said most of the detainees have developed serious ailments due to insufficient and unhygienic food, and lack of access to proper medication and medical checkup.<\/p>\n
He demanded the world human rights bodies to take immediate notice of the plight of Kashmiri detainees and play their role to help secure their immediate release.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson also urged the United Nations to hold India accountable for crimes against humanity in the occupied territory.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Insaf Party Jammu Kashmir spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said the outrageous remarks by Jammu-based Hindutva Dogra BJP leader Sunil Sharma against the martyrs of July 13, 1931, reflect the animosity and hatred of Hindutva elements against Islam and Muslims.\u00a0 He said the martyrs of July 13, 1931, are regarded as heroes of the Kashmiri people, and will always be remembered for their sacrifice in standing up for the rights and dignity of the oppressed people of\u00a0 Kashmir.<\/p>\n
These derogatory remarks triggered widespread protest demonstrations all over the occupied territory and people of all walks of life condemned it.<\/p>\n
BJP leader Sunil Sharma made the shameful remarks against the Kashmiri martyrs of 1931 in response to a speech by PDP legislator Waheed-ur-Rehman Para, who demanded the restoration of public holidays on July 13.<\/p>\n
The Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement in a statement strongly condemned the recent derogatory remarks made by BJP leader Sunil Sharma against the martyrs of July 13, 1931.<\/p>\n
It said these remarks are not only an insult to the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people but also a deliberate attempt to distort history and undermine the legitimate struggle of Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n
The martyrs of 1931 stood against oppression and laid down their lives for justice, and no amount of propaganda can diminish their contribution to the cause of freedom and dignity, it maintained.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
