The women participating in the demonstration carried banners and placards calling for the release of Kashmiri women imprisoned in Indian jails.<\/p>\n<p>One rally was led by Speaker of the AJK Legislative Assembly Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Chairman of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, Usman Ali Hashim, Mahnaz Qureshi, Jamaat-e-Islami leader Amina Saleem, Peoples Party leader Shoukat Javaid Mir, Syed Salim Shah, Advocate Pervaiz Mughal, and others.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-170480\" src=\"https:\/\/kmsnews.org\/kms\/assests\/2025\/03\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-03-08-at-12.50.13.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"390\" height=\"220\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the occasion, Ch. Latif Akbar condemned the Indian brutality against women in IIOJK. He stated that international human rights organizations must come forward to protect the rights of Kashmiri women. He added that women in the occupied territory are forced to live in an atmosphere of fear and terror created by Indian troops.<\/p>\n<p>Other speakers emphasized that Kashmiri women demand peace and justice from countries, organizations, and institutions worldwide to safeguard the rights of oppressed women in occupied Kashmir.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-170481\" src=\"https:\/\/kmsnews.org\/kms\/assests\/2025\/03\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-03-08-at-12.48.14.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"3840\" height=\"2160\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The speakers further stated that the Indian troops are using violence, sexual exploitation, and keeping women in fear as weapons of war in occupied Kashmir.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Women&#8217;s rights organizations should play a role in securing the release of Aasiya Andrabi, Fahmida Sofi, Nahida Nasreen, and other Kashmiri women imprisoned in Indian jails,&#8221; they demanded.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the statistics of Indian brutalities, the speakers pointed out Indian troops have widowed 23,000 women in occupied Kashmir. &#8220;There are still 2,700 half-widows in IIOJK whose husbands have been subjected to forced disappearance by Indian soldiers,&#8221; they lamented.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-170491\" src=\"https:\/\/kmsnews.org\/kms\/assests\/2025\/03\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-03-08-at-15.32.52-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1040\" height=\"780\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The rally marched through Burhan Wani Shaheed Chowk and proceeded to Gharipan Chowk, demanding that international human rights organizations safeguard the rights of Kashmiri women under Indian occupation.<\/p>\n<p>The other rally was organised by International Forum for Justice and Human Rights Jammu Kashmir against the human rights violations by India in the occupied territory. The participants of the rally raised full-fledged slogans against India and in favour of freedom.<\/p>\n<p>A large number of women participated in the protest rally.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, International Forum for Justice and Human Rights Jammu Kashmir organized a seminar titled \u2018In the Heart of Conflict: Honoring Kashmiri Women on International Women\u2019s Day\u2019 in Girls Higher secondary School Saheli Sarkar Muzaffarabad.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-170479\" src=\"https:\/\/kmsnews.org\/kms\/assests\/2025\/03\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-03-08-at-12.50.14.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"3840\" height=\"2160\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The speakers stated that there is a long list of incidents of violence against women in IIOJK. He emphasized that the tragic incidents of Asiya, Nilofar, and Asifa, who were brutally attacked by Indian barbaric forces, should never be forgotten.
