Ahmadabad: Indian police arrested a young man after he spoke to the media about an attack on him and others by Hindutva men following Taraweeh prayers in Gujarat.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the youth, identified as Syed Mehdi Hussain, shared his account of the traumatic incident with the media, detailing how the Hindutva attackers pelted stones from rooftops and later confronted them with knives, demanding they chant Hindu slogans.<\/p>\n

Hussain and others faced intimidation and stone-pelting in Vatva, an unprovoked assault by the Hindutva attackers. The assailants threw stones at the group, which included both elders and minors, and threatened them with knives, forcing them to chant \u201cJai Shri Ram.\u201d The attackers also shouted slogans calling for violence against Muslims.<\/p>\n

Despite this, the Ahmedabad police arrested Hussain, accusing him of spreading communal hatred. According to the police, Hussain\u2019s media interview, which he uploaded to Instagram, incited communal disharmony.<\/p>\n

Civil society members have expressed concern over Hussain\u2019s arrest, questioning why he was detained instead of the Hindutva assailants who attacked Muslims on March 3.
