\"\"Shahjahanpur: Over 60 mosques have been covered with tarpaulin sheets in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, ahead of the upcoming Holi celebrations.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, authorities have justified the decision by stating that it is \u201caimed at preventing the mosques from being smeared with colors or, in some cases, shoes during the festivities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shahjahanpur is home to one of the most distinctive Holi traditions, where people engage in \u2018Joota Maar Holi\u2019 during a procession that spans approximately 10 kilometers.<\/p>\n

In Aligarh, in a controversial statement, BJP leader Raghuraj Singh suggested that Muslim men wear hijabs made of tarpaulin to avoid any inconvenience during Holi celebrations on Friday (March 14, 2025).<\/p>\n

Singh, who serves as the chairman of the high-power advisory committee of the Labour and Employment Ministry in Uttar Pradesh and holds a minister of state equivalent rank, said, \u201cThe administration is on alert in view of Holi celebrations and for the \u2018Juma namaz\u2019 (Friday prayers), but some people have their objections.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
