Islamabad: A video showing several Hindu devotees in Maharashtra attempting to forcefully enter the gates of a mosque in Ratnagiri while celebrating the Shimga festival\u2014a festival observed a day before Holi in the Konkan region\u2014has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the footage shows scores of Hindus in Ratnagiri district celebrating Shimga by raising a large wooden structure and trying to break into the gates of Jama Masjid in Rajapur.<\/p>\n
In the video, police personnel can be seen standing idly by, taking no action as many Hindu devotees try to force their way into the mosque by smashing the gates with the wooden structure.<\/p>\n
No festival of Hindu extremists is completed without dancing in front of mosques, the worship place of Muslims.<\/p>\n
On every festival, the Hindu extremists and especially the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists force their way into masques to hurt the sentiments of Muslims and instigate them.<\/p>\n
In Rajapur, Ratnagiri (Maharashtra), people were celebrating the Holi Shimga festival. During the festivities, a Hindutva mob chanted religious slogans and broke the mosque gate. While Taraweeh prayers were being offered, the crowd threw gulal. The police were present at the scene throughout the incident.<\/p>\n
Witnesses said that the group raised religious slogans before vandalizing the mosque. Shockingly, the act took place in the presence of the #police.<\/p>\n
These acts of the Hindu extremists, particularly the BJP activists are very shameful and disturbing as the police are playing the role of mere spectators and they are even facilitating them in their immoral and unethical acts.<\/p>\n
