Meerut: The arrest of a Muslim student for offering namaz at a private university in Uttar Pradesh\u2019s Meerut has once again highlighted the escalating religious persecution faced by minorities under the Hindutva-driven policies of the Modi regime.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, Khalid Pradhan was arrested after Hindu extremist groups protested against a viral video showing students offering prayers on the university campus. The university administration swiftly suspended Pradhan and three security personnel while also calling for police action against him.<\/p>\n

The case was registered under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Section 299 along with provisions of the Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008.
