Meerut: The arrest of a Muslim student for offering namaz at a private university in Uttar Pradesh\u2019s Meerut has once again highlighted the escalating religious persecution faced by minorities under the Hindutva-driven policies of the Modi regime.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, Khalid Pradhan was arrested after Hindu extremist groups protested against a viral video showing students offering prayers on the university campus. The university administration swiftly suspended Pradhan and three security personnel while also calling for police action against him.<\/p>\n

The case was registered under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Section 299 along with provisions of the Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008. The complaint was filed by an individual named Kartik Hindu, further reflecting the deep-rooted bias against Muslims in India\u2019s legal and administrative system.<\/p>\n
