The officer sustained a fractured arm, and his son suffered head injuries.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>According to Kashmir Media Service, the victim, Colonel Pushpinder Bath, currently posted at the Indian Army Headquarters in New Delhi, was attacked last week outside a roadside eatery near Rajindra Hospital in Patiala. CCTV footage from the area captured the incident.<br \/><br \/>At a press conference in Patiala, Colonel Bath&#8217;s wife, Jaswinder Bath, said that the family was eating outside their car when police officers asked her husband to move his vehicle to make space for theirs. &#8220;When my husband objected to their language, one of them punched him. Then, all the police personnel began assaulting my husband and son,&#8221; she said. She further claimed that they were beaten with baseball bats and sharp-edged weapons, causing the colonel\u2019s broken arm and a long head wound to her son. Both were hospitalized and are currently receiving treatment.<br \/><br \/>However, one of the accused policemen claimed the altercation was initiated by the colonel and his son, alleging they were intoxicated and attacked the officers. <br \/><br \/>The Punjab Police has suspended 12 officials, including three inspectors, and ordered a departmental probe into the matter. Patiala Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nanak Singh said, \u201cWe will conduct a thorough investigation, and justice will be served.
