What is more agonizing part of the massacre is that the perpetrators have not been accorded punishment and delay in justice has led to growing resentment among the Sikh community.

The Chattisingpora massacre was meant to give a bad name to the Kashmiris’ genuine freedom struggle and it was an attempt to equate the struggle for self-determination to terrorism. IIOJK has witnessed many brutal massacres committed by Indian troops in the territory with an aim to shift the blame on freedom fighters to malign the freedom movement.

The cold-blooded murder of 35 Sikhs was India’s false flag operation to also frame Pakistan as a terrorist sponsor while the truth and eyewitness of the incident had exposed the India’s malicious designs against Pakistan. A few days later on March 25, the troops killed five persons and burnt their bodies in Pathribal area of the district claiming that they were involved in the massacre. However, the investigations proved that the victims were local laborers, who were picked up by Indian Army and were killed in a fake encounter.

Today, the world is observing International Day of Happiness while the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir continue to face pain and injustice under military siege woven around them with the presence of around one million Indian troops.

Meanwhile, APHC spokesman Adv Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement said that Chattisinghpora massacre was a sinister conspiracy hatched by India to divide Kashmiris on religious lines and also to defame the Kashmir’s legitimate freedom movement. He said that the carnage was carried out to give an impression to the world that Sikhs were killed by Kashmiri mujahideen on the behest of Pakistan. However, the world did not buy the Indian malicious propaganda.

Srinagar: As the world is observing International Day of Happiness, a brutal massacre of Sikhs was carried out by Indian army and its agencies in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, twenty five years ago.
