Brussels: A ceremony was organized by the Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU) in Brussels to honour the Kashmiri martyrs, particularly marking the martyrdom anniversary of popular Kashmiri youth leader Burhan Muzaffar Wani, prominent young Kashmiri figure.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, eminent Hurriyat leader Altaf Hussain Wani attended the ceremony as the chief guest.<\/p>\n
The event was also addressed by its host Ali Raza Syed, Chairman of the Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU), and the council\u2019s Vice President Khalid Mahmood Joshi and other dignitaries.<\/p>\n
The event began with special prayers for the Kashmiri martyrs, and tributes were paid to Burhan Wani and all other Kashmiri martyrs. Kashmiri leaders present at the occasion reaffirmed their resolve that the Kashmiri people\u2019s struggle for freedom would continue until they are granted their birthright\u2014the right to self-determination\u2014in Indian-occupied Kashmir.<\/p>\n
In addition to speeches, the guest of honour and hosts engaged with the media. During the press conference, Altaf Hussain Wani, who is also the Chairman of the Kashmir Institute of International Relations (KIIR), stated that the sacred blood of the Kashmiri martyrs is a source of courage and resilience for Kashmiris in their freedom struggle. He emphasized that these sacrifices have shaken the conscience of the world and exposed India\u2019s false propaganda.<\/p>\n
“We are raising the voice of Kashmiris before the international community, human rights organizations, and EU institutions to stop the atrocities in Kashmir, seek a just resolution to the Kashmir issue, and pave the way for lasting peace in the region,” he added.<\/p>\n
Altaf Hussain Wani also highlighted that meetings with members of the European Parliament and other European figures are being held to spotlight the plight of the Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n
He urged global institutions to play an active role in facilitating a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir conflict, which would help de-escalate tensions between the two nuclear powers, Pakistan and India.<\/p>\n
Ali Raza Syed and Khalid Joshi reiterated their commitment, declaring, “We will continue to stand in solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and amplify their voice globally until their freedom is achieved.”<\/p>\n
Other participants of the event also called upon the international community to take concrete steps to address the ongoing human rights violations in occupied Kashmir and work towards a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
