Islamabad: Pakistan has dismissed remarks by Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Kumar Doval, terming his claims of \u201czero damage\u201d to Indian military targets during the recent military standoff as a \u201cdistortion and misrepresentation\u201d that violated established norms of statecraft.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the remarks follow Doval\u2019s comments at a university convocation in India, where he claimed that India had successfully hit all nine identified targets on May 7 without suffering any damage during Pakistan\u2019s retaliation. He also criticized the international media for highlighting Pakistan\u2019s strikes inside his country, saying there was no evidence that \u201ceven a glass pane was broken.\u201d<\/p>\n

Responding during his weekly news briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan, said, \u201cThe remarks of the Indian NSA are replete with distortions and misrepresentations\u201d. \u201cThey not only reflect a deliberate attempt to mislead the public, but also violate the norms of responsible statecraft.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBoasting of military aggression against a sovereign nation is a grave breach of the United Nations Charter and established principles of international law,\u201d he continued. He urged India to acknowledge the downing of six fighter jets including three Rafales, as well as the damage inflicted on Indian military targets instead of peddling \u201cfictitious narratives.\u201d<\/p>\n
