Who is the LG protecting? Where is the accountability? “When will you resign?” He further said that the government had even failed to provide ambulances to the victims.

Responding to Khera’s post, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said, “Pretty obvious actually who he [LG] is protecting.”

Another Congress leader and LokSabha member from Tamil Nadu, Manickam Tagore, also questioned the timing of Sinha’s statement and bluntly apportioned the blame on the Modi government.

“Before six days to Parliament session, Lt. Governor ManojSinha calls the Pahalgam attack a security lapse and takes full responsibility. But in J&K, the real control lies with the Union Home Ministry under Amit Shah. Why is he silent after 90 militancy-related deaths this year?” Tagore asked on X.

He pointed out that the Modi government had promised a “new era of peace” in Kashmir after abrogating Article 370, but ground realities tell a different story. “Ninety people have died this year alone”.“The L-G admits the Pahalgam attack happened in a high-security zone. Then how did [militants] breach security so easily? Who was in charge of intelligence and preparedness? The answer lies withAmit Shah’s Home Ministry, he said.Tagore emphasized that the BJP-led Indian government must be held accountable. “If the Union Govt. claims credit for all development in J&K…It must also own the failures of security. You can’t take the photo-ops and dodge the bloodshed. 90 dead in a year is not normal,” he said.

He concluded, “Let’s be clear: This is not just a local failure. It’s a central failure — by the Modi govt. and the Home Ministry.
