Their sacrifice is remembered annually as a symbol of resilience and the cornerstone of Kashmir\u2019s modern resistance movement.<\/p>\n<p>The event was presided over by Councillor Yasmine Dar, former Lord Mayor of Manchester and Chairperson of the International Lobby on Kashmir. Chief Guests included Senator Dr Mohammad Humayun Mohmand from Pakistan and Chaudhary Ali Akbar, Minister from Azad Jammu &amp; Kashmir.<\/p>\n<p>Sardar Abdur Rahman Khan, Patron of JKSDMI, opened the session with a detailed briefing on the historic event of 13th July 1931 and highlighted its enduring significance for the Kashmiri freedom struggle.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the audience, JKSDMI founding chairman, Raja Najabat Hussain announced the launch of Kashmir Week, which began on 11th July in Bradford and includes a series of public engagement events in Halifax, Accrington, Oldham, Manchester, Bradford, and upcoming sessions at the British Parliament (15th\u201316th July), concluding in Birmingham on 19th July. He emphasised that these activities are being carried out with the active support of councillors, Lord Mayors, parliamentarians, and the British Pakistani and Kashmiri communities to amplify the voice of Kashmiris living under occupation.<\/p>\n<p>Among others, the conference was attended by Councillor Shaukat, Deputy Lord Mayor of Manchester; Councillor Abid Latif Chohan, former Lord Mayor of Manchester; Professor Tamoor Shafique, Secretary General, International Lobby on Kashmir.
