\"\"Srinagar: A group of aggrieved aspirants for the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) department staged a protest at Press Enclave in Srinagar, denouncing the authorities\u2019 decade-long inaction on a recruitment scam in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK).<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the protesters said that the IOJK administration\u2019s prolonged silence on the issue reflects its deliberate indifference. The demonstration comes after their planned protest in Gupkar area of the city was foiled by the police, with several briefly detained. Undeterred, they re-grouped in Lal Chowk to highlight their long-pending demands.<\/p>\n

Speaking to media, the protestors expressed deep disappointment with the IOJK administration, stating that despite a detailed inquiry conducted by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), no action has been taken against the accused officials or beneficiaries involved in the alleged scam.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have been fighting for justice for the past 12 years. The ACB has already investigated the matter, but the file continues to gather dust. No one has been held accountable so far,\u201d said one of the protestors.<\/p>\n

The aspirants said that the ACB investigation had identified 109 candidates allegedly selected through unfair means. \u201cDespite such concrete evidence, authorities have failed to initiate any concrete action,\u201d another aspirant added. The protestors lamented they have repeatedly approached to the Lieutenant Governor-led administration but their pleas continue to go unheard. With the National Conference now in power, they urged the Chief Minister to take urgent notice.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the aspirants warned that they would intensify their protests in the coming days if the government does not act on their demands.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
