Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has strongly condemned the venomous remarks made by Indian Home Minister Amit Shah, describing them as part of a smear campaign reflecting the Indian establishment\u2019s institutionalized hatred against the Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued in Srinagar, DFP spokesperson Advocate Arshad Iqbal said Amit Shahr\u2019s inflammatory language reflects deep-rooted hostility within India’s ruling circles toward the Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n
\u201cRemarks against Hurriyat that represents true aspirations of the Kashmiri people expose the toxic mindset prevalent among India\u2019s leadership,\u201d he said. \u201cSuch rhetoric is part of a broader strategy to malign and discredit the legitimate and peaceful resistance of the Kashmiri people.\u201d<\/p>\n
Advocate Iqbal emphasized that the Hurriyat Conference is a representative forum echoing the aspirations of the vast majority of Kashmiris, who have consistently rejected India\u2019s forcible occupation of the territory.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Indian government\u2019s attempts to malign this movement will not erase the historical or political facts,\u201d he added. \u201cKashmir remains a disputed territory whose final status must be determined in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions guaranteeing a fair and impartial plebiscite.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Acting Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir National Front, Altaf Hussain Wani, has also strongly denounced the Indian Home Minister\u2019s slanderous remarks against the Hurriyat Conference, stating that the BJP-led regime has not only launched a malicious propaganda campaign against Kashmiris but has institutionalized this vilification at the state level.
