Islamabad: Pakistan has dismissed Indian Home Minister Amit Shah\u2019s attempt to link Islamabad to the Pahalgam attack, calling his claims \u201clies and fictional storytelling\u201d.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, Amit Shah, earlier this week, claimed before the parliament that Indian forces recovered Pakistani voter identity cards and locally made chocolates from three men allegedly killed in a gun battle in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), whom he accused of carrying out the Pahalgam attack.<\/p>\n
Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan, speaking at a weekly press briefing, dismissed these assertions, saying, “India\u2019s claims regarding Operation Mahadev are meaningless”, adding that the narrative holds no importance in Islamabad\u2019s view. He stressed that Pakistan categorically rejects India\u2019s nuclear blackmailing rhetoric and the strategic relevance attached to the so-called Operation Mahadev.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson described Indian political leaders\u2019 remarks in the Lok Sabha concerning Operation Sindoor as baseless and provocative, saying that New Delhi is distorting facts and attempting to justify unprovoked aggression.<\/p>\n
He added that Pakistan had proposed a transparent and independent investigation into the Pahalgam attack, which India rejected. \u201cInstead of cooperating, India chose the path of aggression, unilaterally becoming judge, jury and executioner,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Khan urged Indian leaders to admit their losses and recognise the need for third-party involvement in such matters. \u201cIn May 2025, Pakistan gave a robust and successful military response to Indian aggression,\u201d he reiterated.<\/p>\n
He also criticised Indian leaders\u2019 statements about the Indus Waters Treaty, calling them unfounded and in violation of international obligations. Khan slammed India for spreading disinformation, inciting war hysteria, and destabilising the region through inflammatory rhetoric. In contrast, Pakistan, he emphasised, seeks regional peace, stability, and meaningful dialogue.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson reiterated Pakistan\u2019s consistent position that the final status of Jammu and Kashmir must be determined in accordance with relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
