Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has reiterated its call for observance of August 5, Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, as Black Day in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to send a strong message to the world that India is an illegal occupier and that Kashmiris will continue to resist the BJP government’s anti-Kashmir agenda until they achieve the UN-granted right to self-determination.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, it was on August 5, 2019, that the Hindutva RSS-backed Indian BJP government scrapped Articles 370 and 35-A of IIOJK in brazen violation of international law.<\/p>\n
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesman, Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, reiterated the appeal to observe August 5\u2014Tuesday\u2014as Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir and Black Day. He said the oppressed people of Jammu and Kashmir are facing severe Indian military and police terrorism and have remained under siege for most of the past six years for their just demand of a UN-supervised plebiscite.<\/p>\n
Other APHC leaders, including Fayaz Hussain Jafari, Syed Sibte Shabbir Qummi, Farooq Ahmed, Shabbir Ahmed, Hafiza and Fehmida in their separate statements issued in Srinagar, said that August 5, 2019, remains one of the blackest days in the history of IIOJK. They said the Indian BJP government\u2019s revocation of IIOJK\u2019s special status was aimed at altering the territory\u2019s demography, erasing its Muslim identity, and imposing the RSS\u2019s Hindutva ideology in the territory.<\/p>\n
The leaders said the people of IIOJK are standing firm against India\u2019s illegal occupation and will continue their peaceful struggle until they achieve their right to self-determination.<\/p>\n
They emphasized that the August 5 action was a direct assault on Kashmir\u2019s unique identity, culture, and demographic character.<\/p>\n
The Hurriyat leaders maintained that Kashmiris are determined to continue their legitimate struggle against all odds and expressed hope that the day is not far when their motherland will be free from Indian occupation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
