Allegations of systematically excluding minorities under the guise of SIR (Special Intensive Revision) are at their peak. These are: 1) Duplicate Voter Registrations (11,965 cases): The same individual registered multiple times as a voter, sometimes across different states like Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. 2) Fake or Invalid Addresses (40,009 registrations): Voters were registered at fake or unverifiable addresses, with some records listing unclear or nonsensical parent or spouse names. 3) Excessive Voters at Single Addresses (10,452 cases): Instances where dozens of voters were registered at the same address\u2014for example, one-room homes with 80 registered voters, and a commercial brewery listing 68 voters despite having no residents. 4) Unidentifiable Voter Photos (4,132 cases): Thousands of voter IDs had missing, blurry, or tiny photographs, making it impossible to identify the individuals. 5) Misuse of Form 6 (33,692 cases): Intended for registering young voters, this form was misused to register people aged 60 to 90, enabling some to vote multiple times.<\/p>\n
Rahul Gandhi\u2019s most serious allegation is that the Election Commission itself is complicit. According to him, the Commission hid or destroyed digital voter lists, denied access to polling station CCTV footage, and blocked audits of electronic records. This is not mere negligence but active participation in undermining democracy.<\/p>\n
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has also endorsed Gandhi\u2019s charges, calling the Election Commission guilty of \u201cinstitutional betrayal.\u201d The BJP, displaying typical arrogance, has dismissed the claims, while the Election Commission has resorted to authoritarian tactics rather than addressing the concerns.<\/p>\n
