Srinagar: Hurriyat leaders and organizations have paid rich tributes to prominent Kashmiri martyred leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz, on his 17th martyrdom anniversary, today.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the members of Sada-e-Mazloom Jammu and Kashmir and other Hurriyat activists visited the Mazar-e-Shuhada in Srinagar and offered Fateha for the departed soul of the martyred leader.<\/p>\n

Hurriyat leaders and organizations, including Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, Jammu and Kashmir National Front, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, Dr Musaib,\u00a0Fayaz Hussain Jafri, Syed Sibt Shabbir Qummi, Maulana Musaib Nadvi and Hafiza Fehmida Bano in their statements in Srinagar said the martyrdom of Sheikh Abdul Aziz gave a new impetus to the Kashmiris\u2019 freedom movement. They said that Sheikh Aziz preferred martyrdom but never bowed before the oppressor India.<\/p>\n

They said the people of Kashmir will always remember the sacrifices of Sheikh Abdul Aziz. They appealed to the United Nations to put pressure on India to stop war crimes and human rights violations and give the Kashmiri people their right to self-determination.<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\"APHC-AJK Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi and other leaders including Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Altaf Hussain Wani, Shaikh Yaqoob, Syed Aijaz Rehmani, Zahid Ashraf and Shameem Shawl in their separate statements issued in Islamabad said that Sheikh Abdul Aziz was a sincere and selfless resistance leader who fought against the Indian occupation throughout his life. They said that Sheikh Abdul Aziz faced the difficulties and sufferings on the path of freedom movement with patience and created a new story of determination and illusion.<\/p>\n
