Srinagar: In a significant escalation of military presence, the Indian Army\u2019s elite Special Forces (para commandos) have now been made a regular component of violent military operations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, while more companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) are being deployed across the territory.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian official confirmed that these Special Forces, operating under the Indian army\u2019s Northern Command, are now routinely involved in cordon and search operations, especially in the upper reaches of Kathua, Udhampur, Kishtwar, Doda, Rajouri, and Poonch districts.<\/p>\n
Unlike in the past, when Special Forces were brought in for specific operations, their continued presence indicates a more permanent and aggressive posture.<\/p>\n
Indian authorities claim the deployments are in response to the presence of well-trained and heavily armed mujahideen in these areas. However, ground realities and independent observations suggest that the actual objective is to instill fear among the local population and further militarize the already heavily militarized region.<\/p>\n
In addition to the Indian Army\u2019s Special Forces, fresh CRPF troops, including specialized commando units, have also been inducted into these high-altitude areas. These forces are now conducting joint operations with the Indian Army, police, and the Special Operations Group.<\/p>\n
