Srinagar: A nocturnal protest broke out in Ganderbal district against the brutal murder of a minor girl in Sehpora, Gandarbal district, exposing once again the alarming deterioration of security under the Indian occupation regime in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, scores of locals and social activists assembled at Duderhama clock tower on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday holding candles and placards to demand justice for the slain girl. The demonstrators raised slogans condemning the incident as a \u201ccrime against humanity\u201d and demanded exemplary punishment to the culprits.<\/p>\n
The protesters deplored that such barbaric acts have become frequent in the occupied territory due to the administration\u2019s utter failure to ensure safety of women and children. They denounced the Omar Abdullah-led dispensation for ignoring the worsening law and order situation, saying crimes that were once only seen in movies are now haunting Kashmiri society.<\/p>\n
Social activist Bilal Wani said, \u201cSuch heinous acts shake the conscience of humanity. The government must ensure a speedy investigation and set an example by punishing the guilty.\u201d He stressed the need for complete social boycott of such perpetrators.<\/p>\n
The protesters demanded fast-track justice in the case and called for urgent measures to secure women and children in the territory.<\/p>\n
It is worth mentioning that the minor girl and her sister were attacked in Sehpora on Sunday morning when unknown persons tried to abduct them. The elder sister managed to escape while the younger fell victim to the assault.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
