Srinagar:\u00a0In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary has likened the three amendment bills recently introduced in the Indian parliament to the entry of the East India Company into India.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking to reporters in Pulwama, Choudhary said, \u201cWhen I learnt about the introduction of these bills, it reminded me of the East India Company. Initially, when the British came to India, they created such a situation and eventually ruled the country for 200 years\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cBJP is trying to replicate the same tactics. Their move to empower themselves to send ministers to jail for 30 days and topple governments is deeply undemocratic,\u201d he warned.<\/p>\n

He said the bills were an attempt to crush democracy, but added that the people of India would not allow them to trample on democracy.<\/p>\n

Criticising the dual power structure in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Choudhary said: \u201cHere, two governments are running \u2014 one of Omar Abdullah and the other of the Lieutenant Governor \u2014 and because of this, progress is not made the way it should have been.\u201d He added that people\u2019s issues would be addressed more efficiently once statehood was restored.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
