Srinagar: Locals from Uri and adjoining areas of Baramulla district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have reported witnessing heavy movement of Indian troops, along with armory and ammunition, on the Uri\u2013Gulmarg stretch bordering the Poonch sector of the Line of Control. Widespread chatter among residents suggests growing concerns that India may be preparing for military adventurism against Pakistan.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, this speculation has been circulating for the past ten days, creating panic among the people. Many families in the affected areas have already left their homes. Markets in these regions are witnessing minimal activity, as fear and uncertainty grip the population.<\/p>\n
Further intensifying these fears, areas bordering Gulmarg\u2014such as Tosamaidan, the upper reaches of Gulmarg, Doodhpathri, and Yousmarg\u2014have been declared out of bounds for civilians by the Indian Army.<\/p>\n
Eyewitnesses report that bunkers and trenches are being constructed in the surrounding mountainous regions. These fortified zones\u2014extending from Uri to Tosamaidan and beyond\u2014appear to converge toward the strategically sensitive areas of Poonch and Rajouri.<\/p>\n
Strategically, the troop build-up beyond Doodhpathri and Tosamaidan makes these developments even more critical from a defense standpoint.<\/p>\n
Observers point out that the Indian Army, dominated by the Hindutva ideology of the RSS, has also raised armed groups and is attempting to deploy them along the LoC against Pakistan, a move seen as highly provocative and dangerous for regional stability.<\/p>\n
These reports emerge shortly after a government announcement that the Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will begin replacing the Indian Army in hinterland areas.
