According to Kashmir Media Service, floodwaters from the River Ravi entered the premises of the revered Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara, causing immense difficulties for Sikh pilgrims. Due to the strong water flow, the Narowal\u2013Shakargarh road was closed for traffic after being submerged, with water reaching up to Kartarpur Bastian Bhajna on the main road. Traffic police confirmed that the rising water had crossed the Narowal\u2013Shakargarh road, prompting a complete suspension of vehicular movement.<\/p>\n

India\u2019s release of excessive water into rivers has created a severe flood situation in Punjab, with the water levels in Sutlej, Ravi, and Chenab rising to dangerous levels.<\/p>\n

Reports said several feet of water accumulated in Shakargarh and Kartarpur Darbar Sahib, leaving pilgrims stranded and unable to perform their religious rituals. Nearly 4.4 feet of water was recorded inside the Kartarpur Sahib complex, while rescue teams from concerned departments rushed to carry out emergency operations.<\/p>\n

It is estimated that between 200 to 300 people remain trapped in the flooded area.
