New Delhi: Controversial priest Yati Narsinghanand, the Mahant of Dasna Devi Temple in Uttar Pradesh, is once again at the centre of controversy following a recent FIR filed against him in Maharashtra for making offensive remarks against Prophet Muhammad (SAW).<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the complaint was lodged by the head of the Social Democratic Party of India at the Mumbra Police Station.<\/p>\n

According to the FIR, Narsinghanand made derogatory comments about the Prophet during a programme held at Hindi Bhavan in Ghaziabad on September 29 last year. The remarks reportedly sparked outrage within the Muslim community.<\/p>\n

The FIR cites charges of attempting to create discord in society, promoting pre-existing enmity, and deliberately undermining social unity. Local authorities in Mumbra have registered the case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code to ensure communal harmony is protected.<\/p>\n

This is not the first time Narsinghanand has drawn attention for offensive remarks against Islam and Prophet Muhammad.<\/p>\n

In 2014, he was arrested after inflammatory comments led to widespread protests from the Muslim community.<\/p>\n

Despite previous arrests and warnings, Narsinghanand has reportedly continued to make provocative statements.
