New Delhi: A 15-year-old Dalit student was humiliated and assaulted by a school owner in Morbi district of Gujarat, India, sparking outrage and leading to police action under caste atrocity laws.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident took place in Wankaner town when the Class X student was reportedly kicked in the groin by school owner Yogendrasinh Zala, who also hurled caste-based abuses at him and told him he was \u201cunworthy of education.\u201d<\/p>\n
The victim\u2019s father came to know about the incident through a local resident, Siddharth Vaghela. Then after some time his son came back home and narrated his ordeal to his father, media reports said.<\/p>\n
The Dalit student claims that he was simply taking snacks near a girls\u2019 school when Yogendrasinh Zala came and kicked him in the groin and hurled casteist insults, and told him he was \u201cnot worthy of education.\u201d He reportedly felt dizzy and collapsed for a short while and was taken to Wankaner hospital where he got treatment.<\/p>\n
According to media reports the boy\u2019s father, a 40-year-old sanitation worker, filed a complaint at Wankaner City police station.<\/p>\n
Following a complaint, police registered an FIR against Zala under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.<\/p>\n
The victim\u2019s family has urged authorities to ensure that such incidents are not repeated and that their son can continue his education without fear.<\/p>\n
