Yet, on the ground, New Delhi is stacking its armouries with Rafale jets, S-400 missile systems, drones, loitering munitions, and raising new commando battalions meant for cross-border operations. The contradiction is glaring: diplomacy pretends moderation, the military fuels escalation.<\/p>\n<p>The frenzy intensified after the Pahalgam\u2013Sindoor episode, when India announced procurements worth over INR 1 lakh crore ($13 billion) overnight, including spy planes, drone-artillery regiments, naval fighters, and multi-domain brigades. Defence analysts note that such formations \u2013 \u201cBhairav Commando Battalions\u201d for cross-border interdiction and \u201cRudra All-Arms Brigades\u201d integrating tanks, UAVs and special forces \u2013 are clearly offensive in nature, not defensive postures.<\/p>\n<p>Despite sloganeering about Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliance), India remains heavily dependent on foreign suppliers: Rafale fighters from France, drones and electronic warfare systems from Israel, jet engine collaborations with the UK, and missile defence systems from Russia. This foreign shopping spree belies its claims of domestic capacity and exposes the real intent \u2013 hegemonic ambitions under the guise of \u201cself-defence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Even as Modi\u2019s government seeks trade and political gains with China, it deploys Akash Prime SAMs, QRSAM regiments and strike brigades against Beijing. Similarly, while talking \u201cpeace\u201d with Pakistan, India boasts that BrahMos missiles can breach Pakistani defences and openly raises new commando units for disruption operations.<\/p>\n<p>Observers say India\u2019s duplicity is undeniable: smiling handshakes abroad, war-mongering preparations at home.
