Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, residents of the border town Uri in Baramulla district have expressed strong resentment over inordinate delays in the issuance of domicile certificates by the authorities.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, a delegation of locals told the media that the process has been dragging on for the past many weeks, causing immense inconvenience to applicants.<\/p>\n

Shafiq Ahmad, a resident of Uri, said that despite repeated visits to the tehsil office, his application filed over 30 days ago has not been processed. \u201cThis certificate is an important document required for almost every official process, but the authorities here are not serious about issuing it,\u201d he lamented.<\/p>\n

Another local, Iqbal Banday, said the delay had become a major concern, adding that the general public is forced to wait for months. He alleged that those with connections in the administration get preferential treatment. A student from the area, requesting anonymity, said he feared missing a job interview due to the delay.<\/p>\n

When contacted, Tehsildar Uri Ashiq Hussain admitted the problem. He, however, assured that he would look into the matter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
