According to Kashmir Media Service, the Indian newspaper “The Tribune” in a report has said that the Indian Air Force (IAF) has insisted on the purchase of 114 more Rafale fighter jets in the defence contract.<\/p>\n
The IAF has submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Defence to purchase 114 more Rafale aircraft. The IAF wants aircraft that are capable of multi-role operations. The Tribune said that the Indian Ministry of Defence will directly select the French Rafale instead of the tender, the jets will be made in India under the “Made in India” scheme.<\/p>\n
The Rafale manufacturer, Dassault Aviation, is in partnership with an Indian firm, which is expected to cost more than Rs 2 trillion, which will be one of India’s biggest defence deals.<\/p>\n
According to The Tribune, the aircraft can have various weapons and up to 60 percent indigenous materials.<\/p>\n
Safran Company, which makes the M-88 engine, has announced an engine centre in Hyderabad. The IAF urgently needs new jets. The purchase of new aircraft is an admission of the destruction of Rafale aircraft by Pakistan.<\/p>\n
