\"\"New Delhi: A day after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Manipur, fresh violence broke out in Churachandpur district where militants targeted the residences of several Christian Kuki-Zo leaders.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the house of an office-bearer of the Kuki National Organisation (KNO) was set ablaze, while attempts were also made to attack the homes of other tribal leaders but were foiled by their supporters. The violence is believed to have been triggered by protests over the arrest of two persons accused of vandalizing decorations made for Modi\u2019s visit on September 12.<\/p>\n

Tuthorities had put Churachandpur on high alert with heavy deployment of Indian forces to prevent further escalation of the situation.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Kuki-Zo Council (KZC), in a statement, warned against any violations of the buffer zones separating the Meitei and Kuki-Zo communities.
