\"\"Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the High Court has restrained the police from filing a charge-sheet against Doda MLA Meraj Malik, while allowing the investigation in the case to continue.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, the case involves allegations under Section 356(2) (assault with intent to dishonour), Section 79 (obstructing a public servant), and Section 351(2) (use of force to deter a public servant). The matter came up for hearing before Justice Rajesh Sekhri.<\/p>\n

Issuing notice to the respondents, the court directed them to file objections within four weeks, while listing the matter for further hearing on October 31, 2025.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the Doda administration had prepared a dossier on Malik, claiming that the legislator allegedly threatened government officials during \u201cOperation Sindoor\u201d \u2014 an initiative aimed at countering attempts to create communal and regional divides.<\/p>\n

The dossier, prepared by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda and forwarded to the IIOJK Home Department by Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, described Malik as a \u201chistory-sheeter\u201d and \u201chabitual offender.\u201d<\/p>\n
