New Delhi: Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has lashed out at the Modi-led Indian government for its handling of the violent protests in Ladakh region of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, where four people have been killed, accusing New Delhi of betrayal and political scapegoating.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement posted on social media, Moitra said the people of Ladakh had \u201cwaited patiently for years\u201d for New Delhi to fulfill its commitments but were instead met with neglect. \u201cNone of the Delhi\u2019s promises to Ladakhis have been fulfilled. To now label them as deshdrohis is disgusting,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

Her remarks came in response to the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs, which sought to shift blame by accusing prominent activist Sonam Wangchuk and \u201cpolitically motivated individuals\u201d of inciting the uprising.<\/p>\n

Moitra said Modi regime is attempting to evade accountability by targeting Ladakhi voices who have long demanded constitutional safeguards, land rights, and employment guarantees promised after the special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir was revoked in August 2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
