According to Kashmir Media Service, the statehood for Ladakh movement descended into violence, arson and street clashes in Leh on Wednesday, leaving four people dead and at least 80 injured, officials said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a grim reminder of the government\u2019s failed promises. In 2019, from the floor of Parliament, it was assured that the humiliation being inflicted on the people of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir then would usher in peace. Six years later, the trouble has only deepened,\u201d Pawan Khera, head of the Congress\u2019 media and publicity department, said on X.<\/p>\n

\u201cFar from restoring normalcy in the valley, the government’s shortsightedness has pushed Jammu and Ladakh also into an incinerator of violence. This crisis is the BJP government\u2019s own creation \u2013 one it now seeks to unfairly ignore,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
