\"\"Leh: Gitanjali Angmo, wife of Sonam Wangchuk, a well-known environmental activist from Ladakh region of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, has strongly denied the allegations against her husband.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian police detained climate activist Sonam Wangchuk on Friday and lodged him in Jodhpur jail, Rajasthan.<\/p>\n

Gitanjali Angmo, while talking to media representatives over the phone, said there is no truth in the allegations made against her husband. She said that the situation deteriorated on September 24 due to the actions of the Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force.<\/p>\n

She said she has not been able to communicate with her husband even on the phone since his detention. She added that her husband made all his foreign trips at the invitation of renowned universities and international organizations.<\/p>\n

Gitanjali Angmo said that the ‘Breathe Pakistan’ conference in February was organized by the United Nations and Dawn Media Group and involved multinational cooperation. She said giving any other colour to Sonam or her participation in such conferences is completely unjustified.<\/p>\n

She said it is extremely unfortunate that Wangchuck is being targeted for implementing the Sixth Schedule and making other legitimate demands.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
