Srinagar: Scores of job aspirants in Srinagar staged a strong protest against the Fire & Emergency Services Department, condemning over a decade of inaction on a recruitment scam. Despite repeated promises, authorities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have failed to deliver justice, exposing their blatant apathy toward unemployed youth.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the candidates raised slogans against the systemic negligence that deprived deserving youth of government jobs, demanding an impartial investigation and strict punishment for those behind the recruitment fraud. \u201cFor 12 years, we\u2019ve been waiting for justice. Many of us have crossed the age limit and lost hope. This is not just fraud; it\u2019s a grave injustice,\u201d said one protester.<\/p>\n
The protesters recalled how authorities had previously promised justice, but years have passed with no action. They maintained tha t the recruitment process was marred by manipulation and irregularities, with undeserving candidates accommodated while genuine aspirants were sidelined. \u201cUntil the guilty are punished, public trust in the system will remain shattered,\u201d they warned.<\/p>\n
In Kulgam, residents of Larkipora staged a similar protest over a six-day water shortage, blocking the main road to neighboring districts.
