The action was carried out under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).<\/p>\n<p>Authorities claimed Fayaz was a \u201cfreedom activist\u201d planning to sell the land and channel the proceeds to support pro-freedom activities in IIOJK.<\/p>\n<p>Since the revocation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir\u2019s special status in August 2019, the BJP-led Indian regime has intensified its colonial policies, confiscating hundreds of properties, including homes, land, and businesses, belonging to Kashmiris. These assets are often handed over to non-local Hindus, aiming to economically marginalize Kashmiris and alter the demographic composition of the territory.
