New Delhi: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has said that the BJP-led Indian government is nurturing a \u201cfeudal mindset\u201d that has fuelled a rise in violence and discrimination against marginalised communities.<\/p>\n

According to Kashmir Media Service, citing National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data, Kharge said crimes against Dalits rose 46% and against Adivasis 91% between 2013 and 2023.<\/p>\n

In a post on X, Kharge referenced recent incidents \u2014 the lynching of Hariom Valmiki in Rae Bareli, caste discrimination faced by a Haryana IPS officer who later died by suicide, the assault on Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai, and atrocities against elderly Dalit woman Kamla Devi Raigar in Rajasthan \u2014 saying these were not isolated events but \u201ca dangerous manifestation of the RSS\u2013BJP\u2019s feudal mindset.\u201d He warned that such politics threaten the Constitution\u2019s guarantees of equality, justice and fraternity and accused the government of turning a blind eye.
