Bhopal: In yet another shocking case of caste-based humiliation in India, a young man from the Other Backward Class (OBC) community was forced to wash the feet of a Brahmin and drink the same water in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh, after posting an AI-generated image online.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred in Satariya village under Patera police station limits, where Purshottam Kushwaha, an OBC youth, had shared an AI-generated picture of a local Brahmin villager, Annu Pandey, wearing a garland of shoes. Following outrage, a so-called village panchayat convened and forced Kushwaha to wash Pandey\u2019s feet, drink the water, and pay a fine of Rs 5,100 as \u201cpunishment.\u201d<\/p>\n
Videos of the humiliating act went viral on social media, sparking outrage. However, the victim was later seen in another video apologizing and requesting that the issue not be politicized \u2014 a statement observers say was made under pressure.<\/p>\n
Police have registered a First Information Report against four persons under section 196 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for promoting enmity between groups.<\/p>\n
The Congress party condemned the incident as \u201ca blot on humanity,\u201d saying it exposes the reality of caste oppression and social apartheid in India under the BJP-led government. \u201cThe country must be governed by Dr B.R. Ambedkar\u2019s Constitution, not by the Manuvadi ideology of the RSS,\u201d the party stated.<\/p>\n
