Tinsukia: Three Indian Army personnel were injured in an attack in Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled disturbed Assam state.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the attackers opened fire at an Indian Army camp in the Kakopathar area of Tinsukia district today.<\/p>\n
A Defence spokesperson said the attackers fired from a moving vehicle at the Kakopathar company location. Indian troops immediately retaliated, prompting the assailants to flee the scene after \u201ccarrying out speculative firing using automatic weapons.\u201d<\/p>\n
Indian forces, including Army and local police, have launched a search operation in the area. The attack site lies close to the interstate boundary between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.<\/p>\n
Officials later recovered a truck suspected to have been used by the attackers, abandoned in the Tengapani area near the Arunachal Pradesh border.<\/p>\n
Although no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, Indian security agencies suspect the involvement of the United Liberation Front of Assam (Independent) [ULFA (I)], which has been linked to previous assaults in Upper Assam.<\/p>\n
