Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has said that the ongoing illegal Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir, along with its blatant aggression against the Kashmiris yearning for freedom, has not only subjected the people of the territory to immense suffering but has plunged the entire region into a constant state of instability and uncertainty.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesperson, Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement in Srinagar, condemned in strong terms the brutal Indian aggression against unarmed Kashmiris, stating that Indian forces have made the lives of Kashmiris unbearable. He further pointed out that India has turned Jammu and Kashmir into a large prison, systematically stripping the Kashmiris of all their basis rights and freedoms.<\/p>\n
Minhas also criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Indian government for mobilizing Hindu extremist groups, under the cover of the Indian army and paramilitary forces, to target Kashmiris and create an atmosphere of fear and terror in the occupied territory. These groups, he noted, are linked to the BJP, RSS, Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), and Bajrang Dal, among others. Minhas reminded that these Hindutva groups, in collaboration with Dogra soldiers, were responsible for the massacre of hundreds of thousands of Muslims in the Jammu region during 1947.<\/p>\n
Minhas expressed regret that, to maintain its illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir, India has deployed nearly one million military personnel in the territory, making it the most militarized zone in the world.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that India\u2019 is attempting to mislead the international community with its baseless narrative regarding Jammu and Kashmir, but the world continues to reject its stance and recognizes Kashmir as a disputed region. The spokesperson reiterated that sustainable peace and development in the region are unattainable unless the Kashmir dispute is resolved. He urged India to abandon its obstinate stance and fulfill its commitments to the Kashmiri people by granting them their fundamental right to self-determination.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
