New Delhi: The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has issued an urgent appeal to Muslims across India to upload details of their registered Waqf properties \u2014 including mosques, madrasas, graveyards, khanqahs, dargahs, and imambaras \u2014 on the UMEED (Unified Minority Mapping and Empowerment for Education, Employment, and Development) portal before the December 5 deadline.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Board expressed serious concern over Section 3B of the controversial Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025, which makes it mandatory to upload all \u201cregistered auqaf\u201d data on the UMEED portal. The AIMPLB, which has challenged the Act in the Indian Supreme Court, warned that failure to comply could jeopardize the legal status of several religious and charitable endowments.<\/p>\n
\u201cTime is running out, and failure to upload the required information may jeopardise the legal status of mosques, graveyards, and other religious endowments,\u201d the Board said in a statement, noting that although the court has granted limited relief on some provisions, the requirement to upload property details remains binding.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, it has directed Muslim organizations, imams, religious scholars, and social workers to establish help desks at district, tehsil, and block levels to assist caretakers (mutawallis) in completing the process.<\/p>\n
State-level committees have also been formed to oversee the protection of Auqaf and to train volunteers on the technical and legal aspects of uploading property data.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf any difficulties arise during the uploading process, they must be documented and reported in writing to the respective State Waqf Boards to explore legal or judicial remedies,\u201d the Board added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
