Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has termed October 27 as the darkest day in Jammu and Kashmir\u2019s contemporary history, marking the date in 1947 when India forcibly occupied the territory in clear violation of international law.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, described the October 27, 1947 invasion as a naked act of aggression devoid of any legal or moral justification. He said the illegal military occupation has plunged the region into decades of repression, instability, and bloodshed, posing an existential threat to the Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n
The spokesman said the day symbolizes the beginning of India\u2019s illegal occupation, during which New Delhi has continuously trampled the fundamental rights of Kashmiris and unleashed brutal state terrorism to suppress their legitimate freedom movement.<\/p>\n
He urged the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to observe October 27 as Black Day and reaffirm their resolve to continue the peaceful struggle for the UN-recognized right to self-determination.<\/p>\n
Adv. Minhas strongly condemned the ongoing human rights violations committed by Indian troops and the iron-fist policy of the BJP regime, which seeks to silence dissent and alter the region\u2019s demography through coercion.<\/p>\n
He appealed to the United Nations and international community to take cognizance of India\u2019s state terrorism in IIOJK and to take concrete steps toward resolving the Kashmir dispute in line with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
