Islamabad: An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Engineer Amir Muqam, at the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council in Islamabad to plan the observance of October 27 as “Black Day,” commemorating the ongoing struggle of Kashmiris for freedom from Indian occupation.<\/p>\n
According to Kashmir Media Service, Engineer Amir Muqam, addressing the meeting, emphasized that on October 27, 1947, India forcibly occupied a substantial portion of Jammu and Kashmir, directly contravening both the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and the principles outlined in the partition plan for the Indian subcontinent. He praised the enduring spirit and sacrifices of Kashmiris, acknowledging their relentless fight for freedom from Indian occupation. “Kashmiris have written a glorious history of resistance and resilience,” he said, noting that India has martyred lacs of of Kashmiris and transformed the region into a military stronghold to sustain its illegal occupation.<\/p>\n
Engineer Amir Muqam reiterated that this year too, October 27 will be observed as “Black Day” with full zeal, and the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs has developed a comprehensive plan for this purpose.<\/p>\n
On the occasion, APHC-AJK leader Sheikh Abdul Mateen remarked that October 27 is one of the darkest days in the history of Jammu and Kashmir when India occupied their land, disregarding the wishes of the Kashmiri people. He said that no power in the world can separate Kashmiris and Pakistanis from one another. Sheikh Abdul Mateen further stated that on October 27, anti-India rallies will be held in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan, and major cities worldwide. He emphasized that these events will send a clear message to India that Kashmiris will continue their struggle until the end of India’s illegal occupation.<\/p>\n
The meeting also saw the participation of leaders from the APHC-AJK, Additional Secretary Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Kamran Rehman Khan, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Communications, Cabinet Division, Ministry of Education and Professional Training, Ministry of Information Technology, PIA, ICT, Islamabad Police, Motorway Police, CDA, MCI, and representatives from all provinces, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
